Cross Island Consulting and Training Services, LLC was developed in 2016 to respond to the growing demand for training for public service agencies in all governmental levels.
Safety, security and sound business practices require well-trained, friendly and confident staff communicating effectively and operating with integrity and purpose. Nearly every unit of government has a public service component requiring the interpretation and enforcement of rules, codes or laws. However, not every enforcement group are authorized to perform sworn (commissioned) police functions. Cross Island Consulting develops customized strategies and training to assist non-sworn, limited commissioned staff to carry out their rule enforcement and public contact roles more safely and confidently, increasing visitor satisfaction while reducing agency risk.
Cross Island Consulting and Training Services believes that each individual deserves a basic level of respect and dignity as a human being. Customized non-denominational marriage, unions, and renewal of vows, as well as memorial services are offered in the spirit of promoting this dignity of the human spirit. These services also include taking the lead or working with others in line-of-duty death (LODD) or modified LODD ceremonies, serving in the role of Master of Ceremonies in certain functions, and other individual recognition. In cases of indigence, incarceration or other when family or friends are estranged at the time of passing, Cross Island Consulting and Training Services staff can serve as the voice of comfort and provide appropriate dignity in respect for the life of the deceased.
We specifically assist public safety departments; land management-based agencies; departments with limited jurisdiction and/or regulatory enforcement authority; and higher education. Although this would appear to be uniquely eclectic, it draws upon the experience and skill sets of the company’s principal, and targets specialties in all of the above areas.
Finally, it addresses the often unfilled need that occurs upon the passing of loved ones who may, for whatever reason, lack the capacity to express gratitude for the life and contributions of the person remembered. While we may never understand one’s circumstances, we are not prevented from casting their life as the curtain draws closed in the most positive ways available. Non-denominational services and private ceremonies are our unique way to offering closure to those in need.

Cross Island Consulting and Training, LLC specializes in the development and delivery of customized academy initial- entry training, presenting timely and dynamic seminars of interest, and ongoing in-service training updates. We also design all facets of public safety curriculum, including lesson plans, student texts, workbooks, audio/visual aids, scenarios, examinations, and case study reviews.
